The Hockey Scoop

Hockey News, Previews, Rumors & More

Cody Franson-  Boston has been very closely linked to Franson amongst others.  Buffalo could be a possibility as well after reportedly losing out on Johnny Oduya.

Dustin Byfuglien- Even after Kane has been moved, his name is still swirling around.  If the Jets are looking for a young d-man to replace him, the Flyers may be in on him.

Kevin Shattenkirk- Don’t expect him to be traded.

Dion Phaneuf- He likely will still be moved, but it doesn’t appear to be happening anytime soon.

James van Riemsdyk- He has been linked to Chicago, Washington and Minnesota.  Whether the reports claiming the Leafs are shopping him are true is unconfirmed.

Rick Nash- The cap-troubled Rangers seem to be moving the elite goal scorer and an interesting fit for him would be the San Jose Sharks, who don’t seem to be rebuilding quite yet.  Joe Thornton or Patrick Marleau going back the other way could be possible to add some experience to the Rangers’ roster.

Christian Ehrhoff- The often-injured defender could get a short term deal with a team searching for defensive depth or a kick start on their power play.  Columbus and Boston (assuming they lose out on Franson) could use depth and New Jersey could use some power play help.
