Johnny Oduya has ruled out resigning with the Blackhawks, so this opens the door to many NHL teams to attempt to sign the veteran blueliner. Here are some possible fits for Johnny Oduya.

The Buffalo Sabres covet a left shot, top 4 defenseman; Johnny Oduya fits the bill. Oduya would work wonders with the Sabres because he has a lot of playoff experience and still has a lot left in the tank. Oduya would help solidify the Sabres defense and help the younger defensemen on the Sabres roster such as Rasmus Ristolainen, Mark Pysyk and Jake McCabe. Oduya could also eat up substantial minutes and allow the Sabres not to rush some defensmen into the NHL. Oduya would be a perfect fit in Buffalo.

The Islanders also need help on the back end and Oduya would definitely help out the Isles. The Isles are looking to contend for the cup this year and Oduya would be a major help in the playoffs. Overall, Oduya would be an okay fit for the Islanders.

The Stars need all the help they can get on defense. The Stars traded away arguably their best defensemen(Trevor Daley) and now have a bunch of question marks on defense. However, John Klingberg did emerge as a solid roster player for the Stars but, the Stars should look at acquiring any defenseman they can. Oduya would be a decent fit in Dallas.
