LW: C: RW:
Henrik Zetterberg-Pavel Datsyuk-Gustav Nyquist
Justin Abdelkader-Brad Richards-Tomas Tatar
Darren Helm-Riley Sheahan-Teemu Pulkinen
Drew Miller-Luke Glendening-Tomas Jurco
1st line: Zetterberg is a proven superstar and had 17-49-66 in 77 games. Datsyuk has arguably the silkiest mitts the game has ever seen and had 65 points, 26-39-65 in 63 games, he was the one Wing to average more than a point per game last season. Nyquist recently signed a 5 year/ $19 million extension and has been in the top 5 for points the Wings for the second consecutive year.
2nd line: Justin abdelkader had a career year and scored 23 goals and 21 assists, all career bests for him. Brad Richards won the stanley cup last year with Chicago and scored 37 points. Tomas Tatar led the Red WIngs in goals last year with 29 and also had 27 assists.
3rd line: Darren helm is one of the fastest players on the Wings and in the league had 33 points (15-18-33) last year. Riley Sheahan had 36 points (last year. Teemu led the AHL in points per game and played 31 games with Detroit last season and scoring 8 points and 3 goals.
4th line: Drew Miller is a very good penalty killer and is a little physical too. Last season he got a skate to the face and had to get 60 stitches. Even though he was injured he still played 82 games. He also led the Red wings forwards in blocked shots for the 5th straight season. Luke was another psychical forward who played all 82 games for Detroit. Tomas Jurco scored 18 points in 63 games for Detroit.
1st pairing: Jonathan Ericsson-Niklas Kronwall
2nd Pairing: Danny DeKeyser-Mike Green
3rd pairing: Brendan Smith-Kyle Quincey/Jakub Kindl
1st pairing: Jonathan Ericcson scored 3 goals and played 82 games last season. Niklas Kronwall is the number one defender and scored 44 points (9-35-44) in 80 games. He had a huge hit on Nikita Kucherov in the first round of the playoffs which earned him a 1 game suspension.
2nd pairing: Danny Dekeyser is a good proven defenseman who scored 2 goals and 29 assists in 80 games. Mike Green was a great pickup by Detroit because he fills the void of a top 4 right handed shooting d-man. He scored 10 goals and 35 assists last year for Washington.
3rd pairing: Brendan Smith has come a long way since being drafted and is a sold 3 pairing d-man. He scored 4 goals and 9 assists. Kyle Quincey could be traded or just not used as often because Jakub Kindl is better in my eyes.
Starting goalie:Petr Mrazek
Backup goalie:Jimmy Howard
Starting goalie: Petr proved himself last year as Jimmy Howard was injured, and Mrazek ultimately won the starting job in the playoffs.
Backup goalie: Howard played great at the beginning of the season and even earned a spot in the All-Star game but after he was injured he never looked the same.
